About Michelle
I grew up in a home filled with photographs.
Family photographs were beautifully framed on the walls and albums lived on shelves. I had my own photo album as a child, as did each of my brothers, that I could hold in my hands and look through whenever I wanted. And I did this often! Those photographs quietly told me something: This is my family. This is where I come from. I am belong here.
I'm a portrait photographer based in my hometown of La Mesa, California. After years of living in cities like San Francisco and New York, I found my way home and today I photograph the people and relationships that make a life meaningful.
I've spent almost two decades photographing people, and my favorite part has always been the connection that happens on the other side of the camera. We laugh. We talk. We share stories. And somewhere along the way, we create something beautiful and honest together.
There is nothing quite like watching someone see a portrait of themselve, or someone they love, and realize, That's us.
