A few weeks ago I had a mini-branding call with Kristen Domingue. We talked about my business and how to get clear on my message, what I’m trying to say to women through my photography business. Last year I made the decision to specialize in Female Portraiture and it was the best decision for me as an artist and business woman. This is the best way for me to be of service to women who need to feel beautiful again. I feel more connected to my clients and I want to connect with even MORE women who may feel like they don’t feel beautiful and don’t deserve a portrait of themselves.
The bulk of my clients are women who are doing this session for someone else as a gift, brides-to-be or women celebrating their anniversary or a birthday. There is nothing wrong with this reason for doing a boudoir session. Boudoir photography is mostly marketed to this type of client in the media. You hear a lot of “The ULTIMATE gift for your fiance” or “The BEST present he will EVER get”
But then I started to think about the women who were not getting married or didn’t have a partner to do this for. Should they be excluded from experiencing this type of session? Absolutely not. In fact, I believe there doesn’t even need to be a reason to do this at all and you can read about that in my last blog post here.
So check out the extremely helpful branding chat I had with Kristen where we figured out my new message to all women of why you should have a Boudoir, or Glam, session done.
“Feel beautiful for your own sake”
This is actually my 1 year anniversary of launching this site and I am so honored to be able to photograph so many women and give them the opportunity to feel beautiful for their own sake. Yes, they may still give the album or prints to a loved one as a gift but I know the experience is worth so much more to these women and they will never forget it.
